Since the beginning of optical fiber production, there has been strong growth in the size of preforms and consequently in the number of kilometers that can be drawn from a single preform. Our largest jacket tubes allow for preform sizes up to 900 km.
In keeping with our commitment to "The Evolution of Size," we have introduced the
RIC® process which results in fiber draw lengths of 6,000 km per preform. These large preform sizes enable our customers to remain very cost-competitive in a highly price-sensitive market.
